Bloodlines and Shadows:

The moon hung low in the sky, a pale orb shrouded in thick clouds, casting an eerie glow over the isolated manor that stood at the edge of the woods. The air was thick with tension, the silence broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or the distant howl of a lone wolf. This was no ordinary night—it was the night when old wounds would be torn open, when the bitter rivalry between the Williams sisters would come to its inevitable, bloody conclusion.

Anna Williams, the younger of the two, stood in front of an ornate, cracked mirror in the manor’s grand hall. The reflection staring back at her was as beautiful as it was deadly. Her raven-black hair, styled to perfection, framed a face that could have been carved from marble. Her eyes, a deep, piercing blue, held a glint of malice and determination. She wore a red dress that clung to her curves like a second skin, the fabric shimmering under the dim light as if woven from the blood of her enemies.

But tonight, the only blood that mattered was her sister’s.

Anna’s fingers traced the delicate lace gloves she wore, the touch almost reverent. These were her favorite pair, a gift from someone long dead. But sentimentality had no place here. She was not in this cold, decrepit mansion for memories; she was here for vengeance.

She turned away from the mirror, her eyes scanning the room. It had once been a place of grandeur, a symbol of their family’s wealth and power. Now, it was a decaying relic of a past that neither she nor Nina could escape. The walls were lined with portraits of their ancestors, their eyes seeming to follow her every move, judging her, condemning her.

Anna smirked. Let them judge. The Williams bloodline was cursed, everyone knew that. From the moment they were born, she and Nina had been bound by that curse, their lives intertwined in a dance of death and betrayal.

A creaking sound echoed through the hall, and Anna’s heart skipped a beat. She knew that sound all too well—the floorboards in the corridor leading to the room where their father had died. She had been there when it happened, hidden in the shadows, watching as Nina held their father’s lifeless body, her face a mask of cold indifference.

Anna clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. She had never forgiven Nina for that, for stealing the one person who had ever mattered to her. Their father had been a monster, yes, but he had been her monster. And Nina had taken him away, just as she had taken everything else.

The creaking grew louder, and Anna’s breath quickened. She could feel her sister’s presence, like a dark shadow creeping closer. Nina was here, and she was ready to finish what she had started all those years ago.

The door at the end of the hall creaked open, revealing a tall, slender figure bathed in the dim light of the corridor. Nina Williams, dressed in her signature black leather suit, stepped into the room, her eyes locking onto Anna’s with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. Her platinum blonde hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail, and her face, as beautiful as it was emotionless, betrayed nothing of what she was thinking.

“Anna,” Nina said, her voice as cold as ice.

“Nina,” Anna replied, her tone laced with venom. “I was wondering when you’d show up. Took you long enough.”

Nina’s lips curled into a slight smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “You always were impatient, little sister.”

Anna’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t call me that. I’m not your little sister anymore. I’m the one who’s going to end this.”

Nina stepped further into the room, her movements graceful and fluid, like a predator stalking its prey. “You think you can take me down, Anna? After all these years, you still haven’t learned.”

Anna took a step forward, her heels clicking against the marble floor. “Oh, I’ve learned plenty, Nina. I’ve learned that you’re nothing but a cold, heartless bitch who doesn’t care about anyone but herself. You killed our father, you betrayed me, and now… now I’m going to make you pay.”

Nina’s smile faded, her expression turning deadly serious. “You’ve always been so dramatic. But this isn’t a movie, Anna. This is real life. And in real life, you can’t always get what you want.”

Anna’s hand moved to the small, concealed knife at her waist. “I don’t want much, Nina. Just your blood.”

With lightning speed, Anna drew the knife and lunged at her sister, the blade aimed directly at Ni
