Jill Valentine adjusted the collar of her thermal suit, the wind howling like a banshee across the desolate Arctic landscape. Icebergs loomed in the distance, silhouetted against a pale sun struggling to pierce through thick gray clouds. Shards of snow drifted menacingly, and beneath her heavy boots, the depth of the snow made each step a trial. She had seen horrors before, had braved the undead and faced bio-organic weapons capable of reducing the strongest men to quivering wrecks. Yet today, a different kind of fear gnawed at her; the unknown was always the most terrifying.

The coordinates she had received were precise, indicating the location of a former Umbrella research facility rumored to have been conducting experiments that defied nature itself. The last entry in the facility's logs, missed for years, hinted at genetic breakthroughs that could weaponize human evolution. But Jill had learned through pain and loss that behind any promise of power was often a lurking evil. Arriving at the exterior of the facility, her breath misted in the frigid air, forming brief, ghostly wisps before disappearing into the void.

Renowned for her resilience, Jill had prepared for this mission as meticulously as she would any mission confronting bioweapons. Yet the station loomed before her like a gargantuan tomb, forlorn and ominous against the bleak white backdrop. The entryway, a sliding door partially jammed with ice, seemed to groan as she forced it open. Inside lay a chaotic scene frozen in time—an eerie stillness enveloped the corridor, though she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. The sterile walls were lined with frost, evidencing years of neglect, yet they whispered past horrors in the shadows.

Venturing deeper, she encountered sealed doors with thick glass windows that offered glimpses of medical bays. The remnants of equipment lay scattered, and the air was perfumed with an odd combo of chemicals and decay. Oddly, the coldness gnawed not just at her skin but at her resolve. She could almost hear the echoes of suffering, cries that had long since muted. She was not the first to tread these unholy grounds; many had come before her, their curiosity leading to their doom.

"Stay focused," she murmured to herself, shaking off the phantom chill creeping up her spine. As she pressed forward, her flashlight beam flickered across a faded sign, 'Subject Containment Area.' Might as well have been a warning. Curiosity outweighed caution, and her heart raced as she approached a large door marked with various bioweapons insignia, warning labels crisscrossing across the metal like distorted veins.

With a heavy breath, Jill activated the override panel, the ancient machinery whirring to life in protest. A brittle crack broke the silence, and the door creaked open, its sound reverberating like a death knell. The stench hit her first—a mix of preservatives and something else—familiar in a way that made her stomach churn. Before her lay a containment room, starkly illuminated by harsh fluorescent lights. Rows of glass tanks lined the room, their contents suspended in an icy embrace, pale forms floating in a grotesque stillness.

Instinctively, Jill adjusted her grip on her weapon, eyes narrowing as she scanned each tank. Their features morphed under layers of frost—humans twisted into nightmarish forms, remnants of what they once were. Faces distorted, some unrecognizable yet eerily familiar—she realized they could have been anyone. Soldiers, civilians; none escaped Umbrella's grasp. A chill deeper than the Arctic ice filled her heart. She was standing atop a forgotten graveyard of humanity.

A sudden crash echoed from behind her, the sound reverberating through the metal hall like a gunshot, shattering her momentary introspection. Spinning around, adrenaline surged through her veins as she trained her weapon on the darkened entrance, heart pounding like a warning drum. The ambient silence returned, mocking her, yet she didn't dare lower her weapon.

“Who’s there?” she called out, voice steady despite the turmoil roiling inside her. No response came, only the hiss of the bitter wind sneaking through the cracks in the doorframe. But Jill recognized that silence; it preceded danger.

With every instinct screaming for caution, she approached the tanks. One of the glass chambers was cracked, glistening shards jutting out like jagged teeth. Through the murky water, she could see the silhouette of a figure, limbs longer than they should have been, shifted s
