The rain fell in relentless sheets, drenching the sprawling, grimy streets of the city as the sound of thunder rumbled overhead. Shadows danced beneath flickering streetlights, casting long, eerie shapes that seemed to grow and stretch with every bolt of lightning that tore through the sky. Somewhere deep within the maze of alleyways and decaying industrial blocks, a battle was raging—a battle that, in this moment, felt like the only thing left standing between the world and utter darkness.
Chun-Li pressed her back against the cold, rough surface of a crumbling brick wall, her breath coming in short, ragged bursts. Her muscles burned with exhaustion, and her azure qipao clung to her body, soaked with rain and sweat. The once pristine garment was now torn and tattered, stained with the grime of the streets and the blood of her enemies. She had been fighting for what felt like hours, her movements swift and precise, her strikes deadly and unyielding. But the sheer number of Shadaloo’s soldiers seemed endless, an unrelenting tide of faceless, ruthless mercenaries.
The underlings were everywhere—emerging from the shadows, slipping from behind broken doors and shattered windows, crawling out of the very cracks in the earth like roaches. They moved like ghosts, silent and deadly, their eyes glinting with malice as they stalked her through the storm-drenched night. Each one carried the emblem of Shadaloo etched into their armor, a reminder of the organization that had once ruled the criminal underworld with an iron fist—and that still held her father’s blood on its hands.
Chun-Li’s fists clenched, her knuckles white as the rain dripped down her face. She had come too far—sacrificed too much—to let them overwhelm her now. She would not break. She could not break. Not here, not like this.
A faint rustle echoed from the alley behind her, and her body tensed instinctively. She spun on her heel just in time to see a shadowy figure lunging toward her, a gleaming knife raised high, ready to strike. With lightning speed, she sidestepped the attack, her hand flashing out to grab the attacker’s wrist, twisting it with brutal efficiency. The soldier let out a grunt of pain as the knife clattered to the ground, and with a swift, precise kick to the chest, Chun-Li sent him crashing into the alley wall, unconscious.
But there was no time to savor the victory. Another figure emerged from the darkness, followed by another and another—each one armed, each one deadly. Their eyes gleamed with a sinister glow, their faces obscured by the rain and shadow, but Chun-Li could feel their hatred, their bloodlust. They moved as if driven by something unnatural, something far darker than mere loyalty to Shadaloo.
She launched herself forward, her legs a blur as she struck the first soldier with a powerful spinning kick to the head. He dropped to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut, but before she could turn, another had already closed the distance, slashing at her with a curved blade. Chun-Li ducked beneath the strike, her body twisting in a fluid motion as she brought her fist up to deliver a punishing uppercut to the soldier’s jaw.
The sound of bone crunching echoed through the rain-soaked alley, but even as that soldier fell, two more advanced. They came at her in perfect synchrony, their movements unnervingly coordinated. One swung a heavy metal baton, aiming for her ribs, while the other circled around with a dagger poised to plunge into her back.
Chun-Li’s heart pounded in her chest, her breath ragged as she blocked the baton with her forearm, gritting her teeth against the impact. The pain radiated through her arm, but she refused to let it slow her down. With a swift kick, she disarmed the baton-wielder, sending the weapon clattering to the ground, then twisted her body to evade the dagger’s deadly thrust. The blade missed her by mere inches, but before the soldier could strike again, Chun-Li’s leg snapped up in a blur, catching him square in the throat. He gagged, stumbling backward as he crumpled to the ground.
But it wasn’t enough. It never was.
More soldiers appeared, their eyes glowing in the darkness, their faces twisted in grotesque, almost inhuman expressions. It was as if they were possessed, their bodies driven by something far more malevolent than Shadaloo’s typical lust for power. A chill ran down Chun-Li’s spine as she realized the truth—these weren’t just Shadaloo’s regular soldiers. They were something more, something darker. Thei
