Rose: Veil of Violet by Jade Gretz

Rose, the fortune teller of international renown, stood poised in the rain-slicked alleyway, the scarlet silk of her gown a stark contrast to the grimy surroundings. Across from her, a hulking figure materialized from the shadows – Blanka, the feral beast from the Amazon.

He wasn't the Blanka Rose remembered from past tournaments. Gone was the playful, childlike spark in his luminescent yellow eyes. Now, only a wild animalistic hunger burned within them. His once tattered clothing had been shredded to mere scraps, revealing a body mutated beyond recognition. Thick green fur, matted and dripping rain, covered most of him, and claws that resembled wicked daggers scraped against the asphalt.

"Blanka," Rose began, her voice a gentle counterpoint to the howling wind. "What has happened to you?"

But the feral man before her didn't respond, only let out a primal growl, a sound that sent shivers down Rose's spine. The air crackled with a strange electrical energy, emanating from the pulsating yellow patterns that seemed to have become a permanent part of Blanka's skin.

A horrifying realization dawned on Rose. The Soul Power she had used for years to heal, to guide, had begun to corrupt. Its initial purity had been warped by the constant exposure to the darkness she'd faced – the cruelty of M. Bison, the desperation of those seeking solace. Now, it mirrored the violence Blanka had witnessed in his life, the savagery of the Amazon.

Fear threatened to consume her, but Rose, seasoned warrior as much as fortune teller, pushed it down. Blanka needed help, not fear. With a deep breath, she channeled her Soul Power, focusing it into a shimmering golden tarot card – The Fool.

"This isn't the path for you, Blanka," she called out, holding the card aloft. "Remember who you are!"

The Fool pulsed with calming energy, but Blanka remained unfazed. With a roar that echoed through the alleyway, he charged, a blur of claws and primal fury. Rose barely dodged the swipe, the stench of raw flesh assaulting her nostrils.

Her heart hammered against her ribs. This wasn't a sparring match, a display of martial prowess. This was a battle for Blanka's very soul, a fight against the darkness that threatened to consume him.

Leaping back, she channeled her Soul Power once more, forming another card – The Sun. A burst of warm, radiant light erupted from the card, momentarily blinding Blanka. In that split second, Rose reached into her soul, pulling on the remaining reserves of pure energy.

From the swirling vortex of her power, a spectral form emerged – a shimmering woman clad in white, her face serene. It was the embodiment of her Soul Power, the untainted essence Rose had almost lost.

The spectral woman flew towards Blanka, her touch like a soothing balm. He roared in pain, a sound far removed from the feral growl of moments ago. It was a human sound, a sound of raw, primal fear.

As the spectral woman continued to channel her healing energy, the green fur on Blanka's body began to recede. The yellow patterns flickered and faded. Slowly, painfully, the feral monstrosity began to transform back into the man Rose knew.

Tears welled in Rose's eyes, a mix of relief and exhaustion. She had pushed her Soul Power to its limits, and she felt its fragility like never before. The battle had been more draining than any physical brawl she'd ever faced.

But the victory was short-lived. As the spectral woman finished her task and dissolved back into Rose's soul, a deep, guttural voice echoed through the alley. A figure materialized from the shadows – tall, cloaked, and shrouded in an aura of pure darkness.

"So… the legendary Soul Power," the figure rasped, its voice a grating chorus of whispers. "Intriguing. And powerful."

Rose whirled around, facing this new threat. Her Soul Power was depleted, her body trembling from the exertion. But the sight of Blanka, still dazed but beginning to regain his senses, fueled a renewed determination within her.

"Who are you?" Rose demanded, her voice a hoarse whisper.

"A being far beyond your comprehension," the figure chuckled, the sound like stones grinding together. "But for now, you can call me Harbinger."

As Harbinger stepped forward, Rose felt a terrifying hunger emanating from him, a hunger for power that dwarfed anything she'd ever encountered. It was a vacuum that threatened to consume not just her Soul Power, but her very essence.

She glanced at Blanka, offe
