Majestic Samus: Galactic Huntress by Jade Gretz

Samus Aran was not afraid of the dark. She had faced countless horrors in her career as a bounty hunter, and she had always prevailed. She had explored the depths of alien planets, fought against the parasitic Metroids, and confronted the evil Space Pirates. She had seen things that would make most people lose their sanity, but she had never given up.

But this time, it was different. This time, she was not in her own world. She was in a twisted version of reality, where the laws of physics and logic did not apply. She was in a nightmare, and she had no idea how to escape.

It all started when she received a distress signal from a research station on the edge of the galaxy. The station was studying a mysterious phenomenon: a rift in space-time that appeared out of nowhere. The scientists wanted to investigate the rift, hoping to find new discoveries and possibly new sources of energy. Samus agreed to escort them, as the rift was located in a dangerous sector, infested with pirates and other threats.

She arrived at the station, and met with the lead scientist, Dr. Kira. She was a young and brilliant woman, who had dedicated her life to the study of the cosmos. She greeted Samus warmly, and explained the situation.

"The rift is unlike anything we've ever seen before," she said. "It's not a wormhole, or a black hole, or a portal. It's something else. Something new. And it's unstable. It fluctuates in size and shape, and emits strange readings. We don't know what's on the other side, or what caused it. But we're determined to find out."

She led Samus to the observation deck, where a large window showed the rift in all its glory. It was a swirling vortex of purple and black, crackling with energy. It looked like a wound in the fabric of reality, bleeding chaos into the universe.

Samus felt a chill run down her spine as she looked at it. She had a bad feeling about this. She had seen many wonders and horrors in her travels, but this was something else. Something unnatural. Something wrong.

She turned to Dr. Kira, and asked her a simple question.

"Are you sure this is safe?"

Dr. Kira smiled confidently, and nodded.

"Of course. We've taken every precaution. We've set up a perimeter of sensors and shields around the rift, to monitor its activity and prevent anything from coming through. We've also prepared a probe, equipped with cameras and scanners, to send into the rift and collect data. We're ready to launch it any minute now. Would you like to join us in the control room?"

Samus hesitated. She wanted to warn Dr. Kira, to tell her to abort the mission, to leave the rift alone. But she knew it was futile. Dr. Kira was too curious, too ambitious, too eager to make a breakthrough. She would not listen to reason. She would not stop until she had unlocked the secrets of the rift.

Samus decided to go along with her, hoping to at least keep an eye on her and protect her if anything went wrong. She followed her to the control room, where a team of technicians and scientists were busy with their consoles and screens. Dr. Kira took her seat at the main console, and addressed the team.

"Alright, people. This is it. The moment we've been waiting for. We're about to make history. Are you ready?"

The team cheered and clapped, excited and nervous. Dr. Kira turned to Samus, and gave her a thumbs up.

"Here we go. Launching the probe in 3... 2... 1..."

A metal cylinder, about the size of a car, shot out of a launch pad, and flew towards the rift. It entered the vortex, and disappeared from sight.

The team waited in silence, holding their breaths. They watched the screens, hoping to see the probe's feed. But nothing happened. The screens remained blank.

Dr. Kira frowned, and tapped on her console.

"Probe, do you copy? Probe, come in. Probe, respond."

No answer.

She tried again, and again, and again. But there was no response. The probe was gone.

Dr. Kira's face turned pale, and she looked at Samus, with a mix of fear and confusion.

"What... what happened? Where's the probe? Did we lose contact?"

Samus shook her head, and pointed at the window.

"Look."

Dr. Kira looked, and gasped.

The rift had changed. It was no longer a vortex, but a gaping hole. A hole that was growing bigger and bigger, expanding and consuming the space around it. And from the hole, something was emerging.
