Power Girl: Krypton Might ANIMATION
Circe's Veilbeasts
Shadows clung to the spires of Themyscira like lovers reluctant to part, their whispers threading through the marble colonnades where moonlight dared not linger. Power Girl hovered above the island's heart, her cape a defiant slash against the bruised sky. Kara Zor-L felt it first—a tremor in the weave of reality, subtle as a vein pulsing beneath flawless skin. The Justice League had come here for parley with Queen Hippolyta, but now silence reigned, broken only by the lap of waves that sounded too much like muffled screams.
She descended, boots silent on dew-slick stone. The grand hall's doors yawned open, exhaling a chill that raised hackles on her invulnerable flesh. Inside, braziers flickered with unnatural green flames, casting elongated silhouettes that writhed like living tattoos on the walls.
"Superman? Diana?" Her voice echoed, sharp as a Kryptonian crystal's edge.
A low rumble answered from the throne room's depths—not words, but a guttural symphony of hunger. Kara's heat vision flared instinctively, illuminating horrors that clawed at her sanity.
There stood—or loomed—what had been Superman. No longer the Man of Steel, but a colossal lattice of throbbing crystal, veins of liquid kryptonite pulsing crimson through translucent facets. His eyes, shattered prisms, wept molten light. Jagged limbs flexed, each movement grinding like tectonic fury. Beside him, Batman had become a vortex of midnight tendrils, a bat-winged abyss where his cowl fused into swirling void-flesh, eyes twin voids that drank the light.
Wonder Woman writhed nearby, her form a cascade of serpentine coils erupting from Amazonian marble skin—gorgon tresses alive with venomous eyes that blinked in hypnotic unison. Flash was a blur frozen in agony, his body elongated into a mercurial serpent of speed-force lightning, scales flickering with trapped velocities that promised to unravel time itself.
Green Lantern's ring birthed no constructs now; his torso split into a lantern-jawed maw of emerald teeth, willpower warped into insatiable jaws. Aquaman thrashed in a whirlpool of his own scaled hide, fins razor-edged, gills flaring with abyssal rage. Martian Manhunter's shape-shifting betrayed him, phasing into a protoplasmic horror of phasing limbs and psychic barbs that pierced the mind.
They turned as one, a chorus of malformed roars shaking the hall's foundations. Kara's heart hammered—a rarity for one who had stared down gods.
"What sorcery is this?" she demanded, fists igniting with solar fury.
From the throne, draped in silks that shifted like oil on water, rose Circe. The witch's laughter pealed, a melody laced with venomous honey. Her gown clung like a second skin, auburn locks cascading in defiant waves, eyes smoldering with ancient promise. Beauty incarnate, yet her smile promised oblivion.
"Power Girl, darling," Circe purred, gliding forward with hips swaying in hypnotic rhythm. "Kara. How pedestrian to call them by their mortal shells. Behold my masterpieces—the Veilbeasts. Heroes stripped to primal truths, veils torn away. Superman, ever the paragon? Now he's Fractal, hunger incarnate for worlds to shatter. Batman, the shadow detective? Abyss, devouring secrets whole."
Kara's gaze flicked between the monsters and the enchantress. "You twisted them. Revert them, Circe, or I'll reduce you to ash."
Circe's lips curved, a serpent's kiss. "Ash? Oh, sweet Kryptonian bloom. Violence is so... crude. Come closer. See the poetry." She extended a hand, nails like polished obsidian, trailing perfume that invaded Kara's senses—jasmine laced with something feral, stirring unwelcome heat.
The Veilbeasts advanced, Fractal's crystals humming a dirge that vibrated Kara's bones. Abyss uncoiled tendrils, probing the air with inquisitive malice. Kara launched skyward, smashing through the vaulted ceiling in a blaze of heat vision. Debris rained, but Circe merely laughed, her form dissolving into mist that reformed atop a shattered pillar.
"Flee if you must, but they hunger for you now. Their minds whisper your name—sister, rival, prey."
Kara twisted mid-air, sonic clap shattering the air, staggering the beasts. Gorgon Diana lunged, serpents hissing prophecies of stone flesh. Kara dodged, landing a punch that caved scales but unleashed a psychic wail—Diana's voice, fragmented: Kara... join... free...
The plea clawed at her mind, mystery uncoiling. Not mere
