Chun Li’s breath came fast and shallow, her heart pounding in her chest as she stared down the resurrected Iron Sentinel. His body, though broken and sparking, still lumbered forward with relentless intent. Each step he took was a slow, agonizing crunch of metal grinding against stone, and yet the sheer malevolent persistence in his red, glowing eyes filled the air with dread.
She knew she couldn’t afford another prolonged battle. Her body was near its limit. Bruises were blooming across her arms and legs, and her muscles screamed with every movement. She was a fighter, a warrior forged in countless battles, but even she had limits. And this… this machine didn’t.
As the Iron Sentinel staggered forward, Chun Li’s mind raced. She had found a way to crack his armor, to expose the vulnerable joints in his mechanical form, but that had only given her a brief advantage. It wouldn’t work a second time—not with him slowly adapting to her tactics. She needed something more—something definitive.
Her eyes darted around the courtyard, scanning the ruins for anything she could use to turn the tide. The moonlight glinted off the broken pillars and shattered statues that littered the battlefield, casting long shadows over the debris. And then, in the distance, just beyond the Iron Sentinel’s advancing form, she saw it—a glimmer of hope.
The ancient temple ruins weren’t just crumbling stone and forgotten history. They housed something powerful—a relic, long buried and forgotten by time. It was rumored to contain immense energy, enough to rival the gods themselves. She hadn’t given it much thought before, dismissing the legends as myths. But now… now, she didn’t have the luxury of doubt.
With a swift, calculated movement, Chun Li spun on her heel and dashed toward the relic chamber. The Iron Sentinel roared in mechanical fury, its voice a distorted growl of grinding gears and static. He surged after her, his heavy footsteps pounding the earth, shaking the very ground beneath them.
Chun Li pushed herself harder, ignoring the searing pain in her legs, her breath coming in sharp, ragged bursts. The ancient stone doors of the relic chamber loomed before her, tall and imposing, but slightly ajar—just enough for her to slip through. She darted inside, her back pressed against the cool stone as the Iron Sentinel crashed into the chamber after her, too large to fit through the narrow entrance.
For a brief moment, she allowed herself a breath of relief. The chamber was small, the air thick with dust and the scent of decay, but at its center stood the relic—an ornate, glowing crystal, pulsating with faint, golden light. She could feel the energy radiating from it, thrumming through the air like a heartbeat, ancient and powerful.
But there was no time to hesitate. The Iron Sentinel, unable to fit through the doorway, raised his massive arm and slammed it into the walls of the chamber, causing the stone to crack and splinter. He was determined to break through, his relentless assault shaking the very foundations of the temple.
Chun Li raced to the relic, her hand hovering above its shimmering surface. She could feel the raw power emanating from it, but she didn’t know how to use it—or if it would even respond to her. Legends spoke of the relic choosing its wielder, granting its power only to those worthy of wielding it.
But she had no choice.
She closed her eyes and reached out, her fingers brushing the surface of the crystal. Immediately, she felt a surge of energy, electrifying and wild, rush through her body. Her muscles tensed, her mind overwhelmed with visions of ancient warriors and battles long past. The power was immense, almost too much to contain, but she gritted her teeth and focused, channeling it into her core, letting it flow through her like a river.
The Iron Sentinel’s roar of rage echoed through the chamber as he finally tore the walls apart, his massive frame forcing its way into the room. He lunged at her, his metal fists raised to strike—but Chun Li was ready.
Her eyes snapped open, glowing with the golden light of the relic. Energy crackled around her, illuminating the chamber in a radiant glow. The power coursed through her veins, strengthening every muscle, sharpening every sense. She could feel the relic’s ancient wisdom guiding her, showing her the path to victory.
As the Iron Sentinel’s fist came crashing down, Chun Li moved faster than she ever had before. Her body was a blur of motion, dodging his
