Ada Wong: Zombie Slayer by Jade Gretz

Rain lashed against the corrugated metal roof of the abandoned warehouse, the rhythmic drumming filling the cavernous space with a relentless monotony. Ada Wong, her scarlet dress a stark contrast to the grimy surroundings, crouched behind a stack of rusted crates, a sliver of moonlight glinting off the silencer of her silenced pistol.

The air hung thick with the stench of rotting flesh and decay. Groans and moans, both guttural and high-pitched, rose in a chilling chorus from the shadows. Ada had stumbled upon this makeshift refugee camp after days navigating the ravaged streets of Neo-Raccoon City. The T-Virus, a grotesque mockery of scientific progress, had turned the once bustling metropolis into a grotesque parody of a city.

But these weren't the lumbering, decaying zombies of old. The C-Virus, a twisted mutation of the original strain, had transformed them into something faster, stronger, and far more terrifying. Their eyes, once glazed with an unthinking hunger, now glowed with a feral intelligence, a predatory gleam that sent shivers down Ada's spine.

The camp, a desperate congregation of survivors, had fallen silent hours ago. Now, only the moans of the infected echoed through the warehouse. Relief, a fleeting emotion, washed over Ada. They seemed to have moved on, their attention diverted elsewhere.

Too soon. A guttural screech shattered the silence, followed by a sickening thud against the metal roof. Ada's heart hammered against her ribs. They were back, drawn by some unknown signal.

A horde of infected swarmed the warehouse entrance, their ragged forms clawing and tearing at the rusty barricade. The makeshift barrier, built from scavenged furniture and debris, wouldn't hold for long. With a growl of frustration, Ada rose, her movements as precise and deadly as a ballet dancer's.

She tossed a flashbang towards the entrance, the blinding light followed by a deafening bang. The infected recoiled momentarily, their moans turning into startled shrieks. But the respite was momentary. With renewed fury, they surged forward, their mutated forms a grotesque testament to the power of the virus.

Ada unleashed a hail of bullets from her pistol, each shot finding its mark. But the sheer number of infected overwhelmed her. They were like a tide, unstoppable, relentless. With a sickening crunch, one infected broke through the barricade, its glistening fangs bared in a grotesque grin.

Ada rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding a snapping bite. Her pistol clicked empty. Cursing under her breath, she snatched a combat knife from its sheath, its cold metal reassuring in her hand. The close-quarters combat was brutally efficient. A flurry of slashes and precise jabs dispatched two more infected, their mangled bodies collapsing in a heap.

But more swarmed her, their grotesque forms a blur of decaying flesh and gnashing teeth. Ada danced, a whirlwind of crimson and steel. She parried a raking claw, sank her blade into a decaying eye socket, twisted and kicked, sending another infected tumbling back into the swarming mass.

She felt a searing pain in her arm, a hot bite that shredded through the thin fabric of her dress. A primal scream tore from her throat as she slammed the butt of her knife into the infected's head, sending it reeling back. Adrenaline surged through her veins, momentarily masking the throbbing pain in her arm.

The air grew thick with the stench of blood and offal. The warehouse floor became slick underfoot, a macabre dance floor where death was the only partner. Exhaustion clawed at her muscles, her vision blurring around the edges. Every movement became a monumental effort.

She spotted a ventilation shaft high up on the wall, its rusted metal grating barely clinging to the crumbling brickwork. It was a desperate gamble, but it was her only chance. With a final surge of adrenaline, she clambered onto a teetering pile of crates, her breaths coming in ragged gasps.

Just as she reached the shaft, a massive creature, a grotesque parody of a human once known as a 'Tyrant,' emerged from the shadows. Its single glowing eye focused on her, its roar a mechanical bellow that echoed through the warehouse.

With a desperate heave, Ada pushed open the grate and scrambled into the ventilation shaft, the rusted metal scraping against her skin. The stench of dust and mildew filled her nostrils as she crawled through the claustrophobic darkness. The sounds of the pursuit – the moans, the growls, the tyrant's bo
