She-Hulk: Jade Juggernaut ANIMATION

Gamma's Lure

She-Hulk vaulted across the rain-slicked rooftops of Metropolis, her emerald skin glistening under the fractured neon haze. The city pulsed with an unnatural rhythm tonight, a low thrum that vibrated through her bones like the echo of a distant scream. Sirens wailed in discordant harmony, but it was the silence between them that clawed at her nerves—the kind of quiet that swallowed secrets whole.

Jennifer Walters—Jade Giantess to the tabloids, legal eagle by day—had felt the gamma flare first in her office, a prickling heat behind her eyes as case files blurred into green-tinged nightmares. Now, leaping from spire to spire, she tracked the source: a derelict observatory on the city's edge, its dome cracked open like a skull exhumed from forgotten earth.

The air thickened as she descended, carrying a metallic tang laced with something sweeter, almost floral. Gamma radiation, amplified, weaponized. Her senses sharpened; she could taste the mutation on the wind, a bitter alchemy promising power and ruin.

Inside the observatory, shadows twisted unnaturally, coiling like living ink. Holographic displays flickered with spectral data—waveforms spiking into jagged infinities. And there, at the heart of it, stood Dr. Elias Voss, his silhouette sharp against the glow of a bubbling vat. Tall, impeccably suited despite the chaos, his silver hair swept back like a raven's wing. He turned, lips curving into a smile that held no warmth, only the precision of a scalpel.

"Jennifer," he purred, voice smooth as aged whiskey. "Or should I say, the verdant vision? You've always had a knack for crashing my parties uninvited."

She-Hulk landed with a thud that shattered floor tiles, her seven-foot frame filling the doorway. "Elias. Still playing with test tubes? I thought your grant ran dry years ago."

He chuckled, a sound like dry leaves skittering over glass. "Grants are for the timid. This—" he gestured to the vat, where a viscous emerald serum swirled, birthing tendrils of light—"is evolution's next breath. Gamma amplification. Not just power, Jennifer. Symphony."

She stepped closer, muscles coiling beneath her luminous skin. The air hummed against her, seductive, pulling at her own gamma core. "Symphony? Your little experiment just turned half the docks into a freak show. Crab-men scuttling from the sewers, eyes like boiling pearls. Explain, before I turn this lab into modern art."

Voss's eyes gleamed, tracing her form with unabashed admiration. "Beautiful, isn't it? The serum doesn't create monsters—it unveils them. It amplifies what's buried in the soul. The dockworkers? Harboring resentments deep as the bay. Now they claw free, glorious in their truth. And you... my muse. Your gamma is the key. Pure, untainted."

Seduction laced his words, a velvet trap. She remembered their brief entanglement years back—late nights in labs, debates turning to whispers. He'd always seen her as more than muscle: a goddess forged in fallout.

"Flattery's cheap, Elias. Those 'glorious truths' are ripping through civilians. I saw a mother twist into something with too many mouths, begging for her child even as fangs sprouted." Her voice hardened, but a traitorous warmth stirred within, his gaze igniting old sparks.

He circled her slowly, hands clasped behind his back. "Terror is the great revealer, Jennifer. The city slumbers under illusions of civility. My serum wakes them. Imagine: no more hypocrites, no more frailty. Power for the worthy." He paused inches away, breath warm on her neck. "Join me. Your blood could perfect it. We'd be unstoppable—you, radiant; me, your architect."

She-Hulk's laugh boomed, echoing off the dome. "Romantic pitch, Doc. But I'm not auditioning for your apocalypse duo. Shut it down, or I'll shut it for you."

Before Voss could retort, the ground shuddered. From the shadows erupted the first wave—gamma-spawn. Not mindless brutes, but horrors sculpted from psyche's abyss. A banker from the financial district lunged, his body elongated into a serpentine coil of ledgers and teeth, whispering stock ticker curses. "Market crash... eternal dividend..."

She smashed it aside with a casual swipe, green fist pulping its form into evaporating mist. But more poured in—nightmarish amalgamations. A teacher with wings of chalkboard shards, screeching equations that burned the air. A barista morphed into a steam-belching arachnid, lattes foaming from venomous spin
