Power Girl: Power and Grace Aligned by Jade Gretz

Power Girl was flying over Metropolis, enjoying the sunny day and the peaceful atmosphere. She had just finished a mission with the Justice Society of America, and she was feeling proud and happy. She loved being a superhero, and she loved her friends and teammates. She felt like she had finally found her place in this world, after being stranded here from another dimension.

She was about to head back to her apartment, when she saw a flash of purple light in the sky. She looked up, and saw a strange phenomenon. It was a swirling vortex of energy, crackling with electricity and emitting a loud hum. It looked like a portal to another dimension, or a wormhole to another time.

Power Girl was curious, and a bit concerned. She wondered what it was, and where it came from. She decided to investigate, and flew towards it. She hoped it was not a threat, or a trap. She hoped it was not something that would endanger the city, or the planet.

She reached the vortex, and felt a strong pull. She tried to resist, but it was too powerful. She was sucked into it, and everything went black.

She woke up, and found herself in a different place. She was still in Metropolis, but it was not the Metropolis she knew. It was a ruined city, a wasteland of rubble and fire. The sky was dark and red, and the air was thick with smoke and ash. She saw no signs of life, no people, no animals, no plants. She only saw death and destruction.

She was shocked, and horrified. She wondered what had happened, and when. She wondered if this was the future, or an alternate timeline. She wondered if she could go back, or if she was stuck here.

She flew over the city, looking for answers. She saw familiar landmarks, but they were twisted and broken. She saw the Daily Planet building, but it was collapsed and burned. She saw the LexCorp tower, but it was toppled and shattered. She saw the Statue of Liberty, but it was broken and buried.

She felt a surge of sadness, and anger. She wondered who did this, and why. She wondered if it was a villain, or a disaster. She wondered if it was her fault, or someone else’s.

She flew faster, hoping to find someone, anyone, who could explain what was going on. She hoped to find a survivor, or a hero. She hoped to find a friend, or a family.

She flew over the outskirts of the city, and saw a large crater. She recognized it as the site of the Fortress of Solitude, the home of Superman. She flew towards it, hoping to find him. She hoped he was alive, and well. She hoped he could help her.

She reached the crater, and saw a figure. It was a man, wearing a blue suit and a red cape. It was Superman, but not the Superman she knew. It was a Superman who had changed, and not for the better.

He was older, and thinner. He had a long beard, and a scarred face. He had a cold, and cruel expression. He had a dark, and twisted aura.

He saw her, and smiled. It was not a friendly smile, but a wicked one. It was a smile that chilled her to the bone.

“Hello, Kara.” he said, using her Kryptonian name. “I’ve been expecting you.”

Power Girl was stunned, and scared. She wondered how he knew her name, and what he wanted from her. She wondered what he had done, and what he was planning to do.

She tried to speak, but he cut her off.

“Don’t bother, Kara. I know why you’re here, and how you got here. You’re here because of the temporal disturbance, the one that I created. You’re here because I brought you here, to show you something. Something that you need to see, and understand.” he said.

He gestured to the city, and the world.

“Look around you, Kara. Look at what I have done. Look at what I have achieved. Look at my masterpiece.” he said.

Power Girl looked, and felt a wave of horror. She saw the city, and the world, in ruins. She saw the signs of war, and genocide. She saw the corpses of millions, and billions. She saw the blood of humans, and aliens. She saw the bones of heroes, and villains.

She saw the end of everything.

“What…what is this?” she asked, trembling.

“This is the result of my vision, Kara. This is the result of my mission. This is the result of my justice.” he said.

“Justice? What justice? This is madness! This is evil!” she said.

“No, Kara. This is necessary. This is inevitable. This is the only way.” he said.

He flew closer to her, and looked into her eyes.

“Let me tell you a story, Kara. A story of how I became who I am. A story of how I saved the world.” he said.

He began to speak, and Power Girl listened. She listened, and she learned. She learned,
