Shadows of Geonosis:
The low hum of Ahsoka's starship echoed in the hollow silence of Geonosis’s desolate atmosphere. She sat in the cockpit, gazing out at the planet's barren, ochre-colored surface. From her vantage point, Geonosis looked like a graveyard of ancient ruins, long forgotten by time. But the Force whispered something far darker. It wasn’t the past she sensed—it was the present. Something was wrong here.
Ahsoka landed her ship on the outskirts of one of the old Separatist outposts, now abandoned. Her hand instinctively hovered over her twin lightsabers, feeling the familiar, comforting weight of them at her sides. The planet was deserted, or at least, that’s what the records said. Yet, something in the Force was pulsing—a disturbance that tugged at her senses like a warning in the back of her mind.
The dry wind whipped against her cloak as she stepped onto the dusty surface. The silence of the planet was unnerving; there was no life here, no sound, not even the chirping of insects or the movement of any wildlife. It was like the world itself had died, but something remained in its hollow shell—something she couldn’t yet name.
She made her way toward the abandoned Geonosian hive nearby, her boots crunching on the brittle, cracked earth. The hive had once been a living city, bustling with insectoid Geonosians. But after the Clone Wars, after the Empire's arrival, it had fallen into ruin.
As Ahsoka descended into the hive’s entrance, the world above her seemed to vanish, replaced by the stifling, close air of the underground tunnels. Darkness swallowed her, and she activated a small light on her wrist, illuminating the narrow path ahead. The walls were jagged and uneven, carved from ancient stone. Geonosis was a place of echoes, and every sound she made bounced off the walls, giving the illusion that she wasn’t alone.
She could feel the disturbance more strongly now—a malevolent energy lingering in the air. It crawled across her skin like icy fingers, twisting her stomach in knots. Whatever it was, it had been here a long time, festering in the planet’s shadows.
Ahsoka pressed forward, deeper into the hive, until she reached a cavernous chamber. Her light barely reached the far walls, leaving much of the space obscured by darkness. In the center of the room stood a massive, broken structure—a remnant of one of the old Geonosian war machines, now rusting and covered in dust. Its once-majestic form was bent and twisted, like the corpse of a fallen giant.
Suddenly, a sharp noise cut through the silence.
Ahsoka whirled around, her lightsabers igniting with a familiar snap-hiss, casting blue light across the chamber. But there was nothing—only the oppressive shadows that clung to the walls.
Her breath was shallow as she stepped forward cautiously. “Who's there?” she called out, her voice steady but laced with tension.
The Force trembled around her, warning of something unseen. She focused, extending her senses, but whatever it was, it was elusive—moving in the periphery of her awareness, just out of reach.
Then she saw it.
From the corner of her eye, a shadow detached itself from the wall, slithering across the ground like living darkness. Ahsoka’s lightsabers hummed as she took a defensive stance, but the shadow recoiled from the light, retreating back into the abyss.
“Show yourself,” Ahsoka demanded, her voice carrying more force this time. But still, nothing emerged.
She could feel it though—something was here, watching her. Not a person, not a creature, but an entity. It wasn’t alive in the traditional sense. It was... something else. A dark presence that had taken root in the hive, feeding on the lingering death and decay that permeated the planet.
Ahsoka deactivated her lightsabers and took a deep breath, centering herself. If it wouldn’t reveal itself, then she would have to draw it out.
Reaching out with the Force, she sent a wave of energy across the chamber, stirring the air and pushing the shadows further back. The walls seemed to tremble, and for a moment, there was a low, guttural growl—like the planet itself was responding to her call.
And then, the shadows moved.
They surged from every corner, swirling together like a storm of darkness, forming a massive, shifting shape in the center of the chamber. Eyes—dozens of glowing red eyes—appeared within the shadow, staring at her with malevolent intent. It was a creature made of pure darkness, i
